The current crop of sociopathic, insane, mindlessly cruel, bitter, ugly, violent, second rate, deficient, nasty, godawful, egregious, incompetent, deplorable, cannibalistic, humanoid swamp creatures are going to pull any and all support out from under us.
Eventually, probably sooner rather than later, they’re going to get to a block that helps to support you.
They have already got to one of the support blocks that I depend on and are going to go after another few in the near future.
They will start going after pensions for teachers, law enforcement, firefighters, retired state and federal employees, and others who will be devastated financially by the pausing or elimination of these benefits, most of which were built up over a lifetime of hard work and diligence.
They will go after their own constituents with the same heartlessness that they go after everyone else.
People who are on social security or disability or a pension of some sort faces the very real risk of having to get back into the job market, such as it is, and having to compete for pennies in a world that has largely dismissed them. They will most likely end up homeless even if they currently have a home that is paid off because they will be unable to keep up with the taxes or maintenance.
Political affiliations, beliefs, alliances, and professed loyalty will not save anyone. The monsters are a universal, non-denominational, and non-partisan force, wielding a pen as a sword and slashing everything in their path without remorse.
They’re coming, and hell’s coming with them.
I don’t know what to do.
I would like to do something good with the time I have remaining, but I have no idea how to go about it.
The ideas I have now are:
Start a company called Standard Products and Design, which would be a group that buys up and then distributes and sells quality products. This group would be the antidote to planned obsolescence and would make sure that, for the time that’s left, people can get a quality product that will last a lifetime.
(I can’t help but snicker a little at the naïveté of me thinking that a company with values rooted firmly in the old world would even get off the ground in the world that’s here, now.)
Start a not for profit real estate investing firm that would buy up closed motels, run down houses, and dilapidated apartments and fix them up and give them to people free of charge. (If anyone can help me reach that pie in the sky, I’d appreciate it because I could use a piece of pie.)
Start a self-sufficient community for poor people (like me and you) where we could live out the remaining time in relative peace (until we can’t.) This is the only one I can see as having any possibility of getting going, but it would require that we begin to take steps right now. If you are interested in this, let me know because I’m ready.
If I lose all of my government pensions, I will take you up on that. I live on my Army retired pension, my 100% VA disability pension and social security. I still do a little IT gig work that pays me pennies compared to when I was still working for a living. I work about one to two days a week now mostly, while the work is there. If I lose all of that, my wife and I will try to sell our house before they take it away from us and jump in the RV. We can be in California in about a week.
